Moving Outwards Incrementally
Moving Outwards Incrementally is a collection of recordings of sound improvisation performed during the 2-hour opening reception of painter Nuala Clarke’s gallery show of the same name at Boltax Gallery (Shelter Island, NY) in May 2010. During the performance, audio hardware was used to sample and manipulate voice, vocal percussion and local radio stations. The performance was recorded in its entirety then later parsed into shorter tracks which were played on shuffle in the gallery for the month-long duration of the show.
